Organized Chaos … Pt. 1: Days 1 & 2

And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one” (1 John 5:8). As we have read in previous post, everything is made by, for and through Jesus Christ. It was His innocent blood that bears witness as the ultimate sacrifice for mankind’s sin on earth via His crucifixion. In Genesis 1:2, the Spirit of God bears witness with a formless earth made entirely of water. Darkness was the order of a timeless past. But then God said … and all of creation was spoken into existence in six days.

God is light and in Him is no darkness at all” (1 John 1:5). God is the source of all life, with Jesus being the decisively indicative test. Jesus said in John 8:12, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” God Himself was the source of light for the first three days of creation. That light ushered in Day and Night, evening and morning, and time began – the first day. God then separated the waters by a firmament on the second day. Above the firmament the water vaporized and became what is called the first and second Heaven, the first being the atmosphere and the second being outer space. The third heaven is the home of God’s throne (2 Corinthians 12:2). Now the earth has a definable round form, a skyline with clouds, and water solely contained below the firmament, comparable to the judgment flood in the days of Noah.

It is worth mentioning here two major points as creation is spoken into existence. One, creation was designed with no curse, which would later come because of sin. And second, everything was made in a ready-to-use aged state so all of creation could thrive and coexist: water, air, land, grass and herbs, trees bearing fruit, sun, moon, stars and all living organisms (animals and mankind). Science overlooks the fact that the earth was already aged in the creation process, just as Adam was made in the image of God as a full-grown man. Creation was designed to last forever, with man living forever in communion with God. With that said you can better understand the wisdom, knowledge and power of God in the creation process. Hebrews 1:10 declares “You, LORD, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands.

Distillation is the process of separating components from a liquid mixture by selective evaporation and condensation. That process took place in Genesis 1:6-7 and the result was carbon dioxide being obtained from the air. Because carbon dioxide is also soluble in water, it occurs naturally in groundwater, rivers, lakes, ice caps, glaciers and seawater. Would God pollute his own creation with a harmful substance that can ultimately destroy it? Of course not! God saw that it was good.
